gavelYou may be familiar with the case of Brandon McInerney, the 15 year old responsible for murdering classmate Lawrence King in February 2008 because Lawrence asked Brandon to be his Valentine in front of Brandon’s friends.

365Gay reports:

“They basically kicked it out of court without addressing the merits of that particular issue,” said attorney Robyn Bramson. The suspect’s attorney noted he would raise his argument again 30 days before trial—a preliminary hearing is set for May 4.

This case has had many delays from the start, most recently when the father of the defendant, William McInerney passed away the morning of Brandon’s arraignment.

Brandon was allowed to attend his fathers funeral, and is now in custody and awaiting his May 4th hearing. If convicted as an adult, McInerney faces the possibility of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
